The Adagia: My Commonplace
In the 18th century, people of letters would often keep books containing miscellaneous information that they thought enlightening or helpful in their pursuit of knowledge. The most famous of which were made by John Locke, John Milton, and others. This is my commonplace, named after the Adagia of Erasmus, the Renaissance scholar who compiled data from the classical world into one volume. Here I will share historical snippets which I find amusing, significant, or just plain awesome.
